Students who acquire an Associate of Arts degree may further their education at a four-year institution as a foreign language major or as an education major. Students should contact the transfer institution about the requirements of their proposed major so that they can plan their program of study at Dyersburg State Community College accordingly.
**Students who plan to transfer to UT Knoxville are strongly encouraged to take non-U.S. history courses to fulfill the General Education history requirement.
***General electives must be selected from courses which are part of a Tennessee Transfer Pathway. Consult the Course Description section in this catalog. Courses which are designated as **Not Part of a Tennessee Transfer Pathway** should not be taken as general electives.
Note: During the sophomore year, students planning to teach should meet the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators (Core) or ACT testing requirements for their transfer institution.
