The Nursing Program graduate possesses the competencies necessary to assume the role of a beginning practitioner in a structured healthcare setting such as a hospital or extended care facility. The graduate is eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) for licensure as a Registered Nurse.
This concentration is specifically designed for students who plan to enter the workforce after graduation. Students who plan to pursue a baccalaureate degree should follow the Pre-Nursing curriculum.
To facilitate success in this program, all students should enroll in ORN 1010 - Orientation: Learning to Succeed during their first semester at DSCC.
