ECON 2200 - Principles of Microeconomics

Prerequisites: ENGL 0810 , Math competencies 1-5 , READ 0810  

This course provides a study of microeconomic principles in theory and policy that describes the economic behavior of individual consumers, firms and industries and how production and pricing decisions are determined. Major topics include resource scarcity, individual and market supply and demand and the importance of prices in a market-based economy, externalities, elasticity, consumer theory, costs of production, output and pricing decisions by market structure, effects of government regulations and international trade. 3 hours lecture.
