This course is recommended for all DSCC students and is designed to provide an orientation to a variety of strategies and techniques necessary to learn and succeed in the college setting. Topics covered include note-taking, study, textbook, and test-taking skills; memory techniques and learning styles; goal setting; stress and time management; campus resources; communication and critical thinking skills; beginning research skills; academic major and career choices; and other current student issues. 3 hours lecture.
