Criminal Justice Emphasis (Tennessee Transfer Pathway), A.A.


The Criminal Justice emphasis provides the student with transfer credit for the first two years of a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement.

To facilitate success in this program, all students should enroll in ORN 1010 - Orientation: Learning to Succeed  during their first semester at DSCC.

**Students who plan to transfer to UT Knoxville are strongly encouraged to take non-U.S. history courses to fulfill the General Education history requirement. Students who intend to transfer to UT Martin should take a U.S. History sequence to fulfill the history requirement.

***General electives must be selected from courses which are part of a Tennessee Transfer Pathway. Consult the Course Descriptions section in this catalog. Courses which are designated as **Not Part of a Tennessee Transfer Pathway** should not be taken as general electives.

****Students who intend to transfer to UT Martin should take Algebra or above to fulfill the math requirement.

*****Students who intend to transfer to UT Martin should take a BIOL sequence to fulfill the Natural Science requirement; recommended BIOL 1110/1120.

Additional information regarding foreign language:

Requirements for a Bachelor of Arts degree at universities include demonstrated competency in foreign language at the intermediate level. Community college students are encouraged to attain intermediate-level competency in foreign language before transferring.
