Criminal Justice Emphasis (Tennessee Transfer Pathway), A.S.


The Criminal Justice emphasis provides the student with transfer credit for the first two years of a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement.

To facilitate success in this program, all students should enroll in ORN 1010 - Orientation: Learning to Succeed  during their first semester at DSCC.

**Students who plan to transfer to UT Knoxville are strongly encouraged to take non-U.S. history courses to fulfill the general education history requirement. Students who transfer to UT Martin should take a U.S. history sequence to fulfill the history requirement.

***General electives must be selected from courses which are part of a Tennessee Transfer Pathway. Consult the Course Descriptions section in this catalog. Courses which are designated as **Not Part of a Tennessee Transfer Pathway** should not be taken as general electives.

****Students who intend to transfer to UT Martin should take a BIOL sequence to fulfill the Natural Sciences requirement. BIOL 1110 - General Biology I and BIOL 1120 - General Biology II are recommended.

*****Students who intend to transfer to UT Martin should take MATH 1710 - Precalculus Algebra to fulfill the mathematics General Education requirement.

Additional information regarding foreign language:

At some universities, foreign language may be required in certain programs that lead to the Bachelor of Science degree. Complete information regarding foreign language requirements at each university may be found on the transfer and articulation websites of the Tennessee Board of Regents and the University of Tennessee Systems. Community college students are encouraged to be familiar with foreign language requirements at the universities and, if applicable, complete the requirements before transferring.
