Agriculture - Plant & Soil Science Emphasis (Tennessee Transfer Pathway), A.S.


The Agriculture - Plant & Soil Science emphasis is designed so that students completing this program can transfer with junior status to any public institution in the state of Tennessee.

To facilitate success in this program, all students should enroll in ORN 1010 - Orientation: Learning to Succeed  during their first semester at DSCC.

**Students who plan to transfer to UT Knoxville are strongly encouraged to take non-U.S. history courses to fulfill the general education history requirement.

***Botany I and II may be accepted in lieu of Biology I and II when these courses are available; however, the Natural Science requirement must be filled by a course sequence. APSU, MTSU, and UTM only accepts the BIOL 1110/1120 sequence for the Natural Sciences requirement; however, Botany courses may transfer for elective requirements.

At some universities, foreign language may be required in certain programs that lead to the Bachelor of Science degree. Complete information regarding foreign language requirements at each university may be found on the transfer and articulation websites of the Tennessee Board of Regents and the University of Tennessee Systems. Community college students are encouraged to be familiar with foreign language requirements at the universities and, if applicable, complete the requirements before transferring.
