The Psychology emphasis provides students with the freshman and sophomore-level course requirements leading toward a baccalaureate degree. Students completing the Psychology emphasis will be ready to move into upper-division psychology courses at four-year institutions.

To facilitate success in this program, all students should enroll in ORN 1010 - Orientation: Learning to Succeed during their first semester at DSCC.

^**Students who plan to transfer to UT Knoxville are strongly encouraged to take non-U.S. history courses to fulfill the General Education history requirement.

^***General electives must be selected from courses which are part of a Tennessee Transfer Pathway. Consult the Course Descriptions section of this catalog. Courses which are designated as **Not Part of a Tennessee Transfer Pathway** should not be taken as general electives.

^****Students transferring to ETSU are required to complete a natural science sequence.

^*****At UT Chattanooga and the University of Memphis, Social Psychology will be counted an elective and not as a course for the major.

^*****Students who intend to transfer to UT Martin should take MATH 1710 - Precalculus Algebra to fulfill the mathematics General Education requirement.

Requirements for a Bachelor of Arts degree at universities include demonstrated competency in foreign language at the intermediate level. Community college students are encouraged to attain intermediate-level competency in foreign language before transferring.
