International Affairs Emphasis (Tennessee Transfer Pathway), A.A.

The International Affairs emphasis provides students various foundational courses in the field of international affairs. The student completes the first two years of requirements leading toward a baccalaureate degree.

To facilitate success in this program, all students should enroll in ORN 1010 - Orientation: Learning to Succeed  during their first semester at DSCC.

Footnotes:

(1) Students who plan to transfer to the UoM must complete at least one fine arts as the Humanities and Fine Arts class general education requirement. Students planning to transfer to MTSU can take an approved Anthropology course in either the Humanities and Fine Arts or in an Area of Emphasis.

(2) Students planning to transfer to UTK, should complete HIST 2010 and HIST 2320.

(3) Students planning to transfer to UTK should complete an 8-hour natural science lab sequence.

(4) Students planning to attend UTK should take than 1130: College Algebra or higher.

(5) Check with your advisor for recommended courses when selecting guided electives.

(6) Students planning to transfer to the UoM will need to complete six hours of a 2000 level or higher foreign language to earn the Bachelor of Arts degree. Students who plan to transfer to UTK will be required to demonstrate intermediate-level competency in Foreign Language before graduating from UTK. Students may demonstrate intermediate level competence after transferring to UTK.

(8.) General electives must be selected from courses which are part of a Tennessee Transfer Pathway. Consult the Course Descriptions section in this catalog. Courses which are designated as **Not Part of a Tennessee Transfer Pathway** should not be taken as general electives.

(9) Mathematics general education elective must be MATH 1530 or higher Mathematics general education course.

(10) One course must be in literature.
