Prerequisites: READ 0810; ENGL 0810. ACT Mathematics sub score of 19 or greater OR COMPASS Algebra score of 38 or greater OR Classic Accuplacer score of 92 or greater OR Next Generation Accuplacer score of 250 or greater OR successful completion of Math
Competencies 1-5 OR DSPM 0800 OR concurrent enrollment in MATH 0105. Mav be concurrently enrolled in ENGL 0810.

This course is a study of problem solving techniques and is designed to provide insight into the nature and applications of mathematics. This course covers topics including: critical thinking, set theory, logic, personal finance skills, consumer mathematics and finance, counting methods, and basic principles of probability/ statistics. 3 hours lecture.
