This course is a continuation of CHEM 2010. Topics discussed include structures, reactions and synthesis of aliphatic and aromatic organic compounds with various important functional groups. Emphasis is given to carbonyl-group compounds and their applications in organic synthesis as well as spectroscopic studies of both aliphatic and aromatic compounds. 3 hours lecture, 4 hours laboratory.
